Biography: DJ Deonē

DJ Deonē attended his first electronica dance club in Los Angeles during the summer of 1999. The club was jumping, the music was pumping, the people were beautiful, and the DJs were inspiring!! He had never felt, seen, or been apart of anything like he was experiencing that night at Key Club. It truly was a moving and life-changing event. The crowd and DJ seemed to become one, indulged with each bass line, synth, and riff; until exploding into a frenzy at the peak of a song.

After that summer night in 1999, he knew he had to be apart of the electronica dance community. Not as a promoter or clubber, but as a DJ. This way he could bring his interpretation of dance music to the people. Who would have known that Key Club would also be the home to his first DJ gig and residency that same winter?

Since that winter in 1999, DJ Deonē has gone on to win the OC Weekly DJ Contest in 2007. He was featured in the OC Weekly March 2007 edition as the winner of the DJ contest. As a result of winning the OC Weekly DJ Contest, he was flown to Miami to play at the Ultra Musical Festival at Bicentennial Park during WMC 2007!! He was also featured in Cut and Paste Magazine’s inaugural March 2008 edition. This magazine promotes and supports up and coming DJ’s, producers, bands, musicians, record labels, etc.

He currently holds residency for World Party Music promotions, AcropolisRPM promotions, and Xquisite Entertainment promotions. He is also the current resident house DJ for Heat Ultra Lounge in Anaheim, CA and Flight Lounge in Huntington Beach, CA. DJ Deonē’s style ranges from funky to progressive to electro house; but he always keep the music underground: funky, deep, dirty, nasty, and sexy.

He has been inspired and had the honor to share the decks with many talented DJ’s like Mauro Picotto, Dave Aude, Charles Feelgood, Seb Fontaine, Timo Maas, Erick Morillo, Hernan Catteneo, Donald Glaude, Steve Angello, and Bad Boy Bill to name a few. He’s watched and learned how they would become one with the crowd, sending them on a journey and having them eat out of their hand with every tweak of the knob, wink of the eye, or hand gesture. He knew that was the type of DJ he wanted to become...the type of DJ he is.

He enjoys the music as much as the crowd does…when they jump, he jumps; when they sweat, he sweats; when they get hyped, he gets hyped; and when they raise their hands into the air and explode into a frenzy at a peak of a build, he can't help himself and does the same!! DJ Deonē believes to be one with the crowd is the best feeling in the world, and that is something he strives for each and every time he’s behind the decks.

DJ Deonē has experienced this feeling at some amazing events/venues from Los Angeles to Miami to Croatia. Notable events he’s played at are Ultra Music Festival, Giant, Avaland, Spundae, Club Rubber, Groove Cruise, World Party Music, OC House Sessions, Xquisite Entertainment, Cupids/Diezel, AcropolisRPM, (O)nes (W)e (L)ove, Epic, Pornutopia, 4 The DJ, Bristol Sessions, Frequency, and Focus.
